To Strengthen Its Efforts Toward World Ranking University (WRU) Status, UNHAS Graduate School Hosts Employer Reputation Awareness Session
MAKASSAR — In line with Hasanuddin University's (UNHAS) efforts toward becoming a World Class University and improving its position in global university rankings, the UNHAS Graduate School (SPs) received a visit from the UNHAS Directorate of Alumni Relations for an Employer Reputation socialization event on Monday (Oct. 5).
This activity is part of Hasanuddin University's efforts to increase the understanding and participation of its working units in supporting one of the key indicators calculated in the QS World University Rankings (QS WUR), namely Employer Reputation.
The socialization within SPs UNHAS featured Prof. Ir. Muhammad Yusuf, S.Pt., Ph.D., IPU. from the UNHAS Directorate of Alumni Relations. The event was opened by the Vice Dean for Partnership, Research, Innovation, and Alumni Networking of SPs UNHAS, Prof. Dr. dr. Marhaen Hardjo, M.Biomed., Ph.D., and was also attended by the Dean of SPs UNHAS, Prof. Dr. Sukri Palutturi, SKM., M.Kes., M.Sc.PH., Ph.D.
In his presentation, Prof. Yusuf explained the UNHAS Employer Reputation workflow and the roles that working units can play in supporting the completion of the survey, which is a crucial part of the QS ranking process. To support this process, a total of 400 employers within the UNHAS network have been distributed across various faculties and academic units, with SPs UNHAS receiving a target of five employers.
"For the Graduate School, the target is five employers. We must ensure they check their emails because QS usually sends the survey link and feedback through those emails," Prof. Yusuf explained. According to him, employer involvement in responding to the survey is a critical factor that needs attention to help boost the reputation of both the graduates and the institution in international rankings.
The Dean of SPs UNHAS, Prof. Sukri Palutturi, expressed his appreciation for the Directorate of Alumni Relations' proactive approach in conducting direct socialization to various faculties and units within UNHAS.
"Thank you to all colleagues from the Alumni Directorate. We appreciate the Directorate's initiative to step in directly and socialize Employer Reputation to the faculties," said Prof. Sukri.
He considered the socialization essential to ensure that all parties understand the mechanisms and the roles they can play in supporting Hasanuddin University's targets in global university rankings. The agenda also discussed Hasanuddin University's current position and progress in the QS World University Rankings, while providing a clear understanding of the Employer Reputation workflow and employer involvement in the ranking process.
This activity is part of an ongoing effort to strengthen the synergy between SPs and the Directorate of Alumni Relations in supporting Hasanuddin University's internationalization agenda and reputation enhancement. Active participation in the Employer Reputation process is expected to significantly contribute to UNHAS's efforts to improve its competitiveness and visibility at the global level.
