The Unhas Graduate School and IKAL-Lemhannas RI Have Agreed to a Partnership to Strengthen National Identity and National Resilience.

Jakarta, October 15, 2026 — The Graduate School of Hasanuddin University (Unhas) has established a partnership with the Central Executive Board of the National Resilience Institute Alumni Association of the Republic of Indonesia (DPP IKAL-Lemhannas RI) through the signing of a joint agreement at the Lemhannas RI Building in Jakarta on Thursday (Oct. 15, 2026). This collaboration marks an initial step in strengthening academic and institutional synergy, while opening up opportunities for the development of postgraduate education in the field of national resilience.

The joint agreement was signed by the Dean of the Unhas Graduate School, Prof. Sukri Palutturi, S.K.M., M.Kes., M.Sc.P.H., Ph.D., and the General Chairperson of DPP IKAL-Lemhannas RI, Purnomo Yusgiantoro. This cooperation is expected to serve as a foundation for more concrete collaborative development, particularly in bridging higher education academic capacity with experience and expertise in the fields of national insight, state defense, and national resilience.

One of the development directions that can be explored through this collaboration is the Plan for Developing a Master’s Program in National Resilience within the Unhas Graduate School. This idea is relevant to the need to develop human resources who possess a comprehensive understanding and analytical capabilities regarding various issues of national resilience across social, political, economic, environmental, and developmental dimensions.

The future development of this program requires thorough academic studies and careful planning, including the identification of educational needs, curriculum formulation, strengthening the competencies of lecturers and experts, and exploring collaborations with various stakeholders. In this context, the synergy between Unhas and IKAL-Lemhannas RI has the potential to serve as a space for exchanging knowledge and experience to support postgraduate education planning that is relevant to national challenges.

The Dean of the Unhas Graduate School, Prof. Sukri Palutturi, SKM., M.Kes., MSc.PH., Ph.D., stated that the collaboration with IKAL-Lemhannas RI is an important opportunity for Hasanuddin University to strengthen its academic focus on national insight and state defense.

"Not many universities in Indonesia have this opportunity. Therefore, it is hoped that in the future there will be more collaborations in education, research, and community service, especially in efforts to safeguard Indonesia's national resilience," said Prof. Sukri.

According to him, inter-institutional cooperation is expected to open opportunities for developing various academic activities oriented toward community needs and national interests. Through this collaboration, higher education institutions can expand their contributions in producing scientific studies, developing human resource capacity, and building an academic perspective on national resilience challenges.

The plan to develop the Master's Program in National Resilience can also serve as a space to strengthen the connection between academic studies and practical development needs. Through a multidisciplinary approach, education in this field has the potential to foster human resources capable of analyzing strategic issues, understanding the interconnectedness of various dimensions of national resilience, and formulating science-based approaches.

For the Unhas Graduate School, the development of this field of study aligns with the role of postgraduate education in strengthening academic capacity, encouraging relevant research, and producing scientific contributions to resolve developmental problems. Meanwhile, cooperation with IKAL-Lemhannas RI can open opportunities to explore the exchange of perspectives, the involvement of resource persons and practitioners, and network development to support the academic planning process.

Moving forward, this plan needs to be followed up through joint discussions and feasibility studies in accordance with the regulations for organizing higher education. Thus, the direction of the established collaboration will not stop merely at the signing of an agreement, but also has the potential to develop into planned and sustainable academic initiatives.

Through this step, the Unhas Graduate School hopes to expand the contribution of higher education in human resource development, the strengthening of national insight, and national resilience studies, while exploring opportunities to develop educational programs that are relevant to the nation's future needs.
