UNHAS Graduate School Holds P3K Coordination Meeting, Focusing on Improving the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) System

MAKASSAR — The Graduate School of Hasanuddin University (SPs UNHAS) held a First Aid (P3K) Coordination Meeting as part of efforts to strengthen the implementation of Occupational Health and Safety (K3) within the UNHAS Graduate School on Tuesday (Oct. 5, 2026) in Meeting Room 109.

The meeting was opened by the Vice Dean for Planning, Finance, and Resources of SPs UNHAS, Dr. Ir. Syahriadi Kadir, M.Si. In his direction, he emphasized the importance of ensuring the readiness of various K3 supporting aspects, ranging from inventory, facilities, and infrastructure, to paying attention to the health conditions of the SPs UNHAS academic community.

Regarding health aspects, Dr. Syahriadi encouraged that health screenings through Medical Check-Ups (MCU) also receive attention. In addition, SPs UNHAS is preparing a K3 room that can be utilized as a rest area for academic community members and administrative staff in need.

During the meeting, several aspects were discussed, examined, and mapped out, particularly environmental conditions and classrooms. This inspection is necessary to ensure that the working environment and academic activities at SPs UNHAS take place under safe conditions that support the comfort of all campus members.

One key step highlighted during the coordination was the establishment of a K3 Person in Charge (PIC) at SPs UNHAS. The presence of a PIC is expected to clarify responsibilities while supporting the coordination and implementation of K3 programs within the Graduate School.

The meeting also discussed the initial stages of strengthening the K3 system, which will begin with drafting a Decree (SK) as the legal basis for the formation and implementation of the program. Subsequently, various K3-related work programs will be mapped out and integrated into a unified program to be executed in a structured manner within SPs UNHAS.

The Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs of SPs UNHAS, Prof. Dr. Ir. Nadiarti, M.Sc., also provided input regarding the importance of having a unified standard in understanding cleanliness within the Graduate School. According to her, standardizing the definition of cleanliness is essential so that the implementation and monitoring of cleanliness can be conducted based on clear and uniform metrics.

Through this coordination meeting, SPs UNHAS continues to drive the strengthening of its K3 system, focusing not only on emergency response during accidents but also encompassing prevention, facility readiness, health, and the creation of a safe and comfortable academic environment. This initiative is part of SPs UNHAS's commitment to building a working and learning environment that supports the safety, health, and comfort of all faculty members, students, and educational staff.
