
The realization of sustainable agriculture is a challenge in the industrial revolution 4.0. On the one hand, Indonesian agriculture must side with the existence of farming households that live in a non-capitalistic production system, on the other hand the capitalistic production system continues to penetrate using the landscape of the Indonesian Maritime Continent. In this context, the power of knowledge is needed which can maintain the coexistence of capitalistic and non-capitalist agriculture. Hasanuddin University (Unhas) Graduate School of Agricultural Sciences (S3) Doctoral Study Program is here to answer this need. This study program uses a multidisciplinary approach to see the reality of agriculture for sustainability.
STUDY PROGRAM VISION
Become a center for education, research and development of sustainable agricultural science based on the Indonesian Maritime Continent which contributes to the nation’s competitiveness in 2030
“Center for education, research and development of sustainable agricultural science” means that the S3 Agricultural Science program has the position of being a center for preservation, development, discovery, creation and dissemination of sustainable agricultural science and technology.
“Based on the Indonesian Maritime Continent (BMI)” means that the Doctoral Program in Agricultural Sciences, Hasanuddin University, orients its knowledge to the uniqueness contained in the BMI ecosystem where BMI is defined as “a natural unity between land, sea and air above it, which is uniquely arranged and displays the characteristics of continents. with unique characteristics from the point of view of climate and weather (climatology and meteorology), the state of the water (oceanography), the order of the earth’s crust (geology), the diversity of biota (biology), as well as its socio-cultural order (sociology-anthropology), which are the jurisdictional areas of the State Unity of the Republic of Indonesia”.
“Contributing to the nation’s competitiveness” means that graduates, research results, and the application of sustainable agricultural science and technology are oriented to benefit the welfare of society and environmental sustainability nationally and to encourage the nation’s competitiveness internationally.

COST OF EDUCATION
A single Education Organization Contribution (SPP) of IDR 12,000,000 per semester.
EDUCATIONAL PLACE AND FACILITIES
All academic activities are centered at the Graduate School of Hasanuddin University. If possible, they can be placed in various regions in the form of Distance Education (PJJ) in collaboration with universities or the local regional government. Hasanuddin University Postgraduate School PJJ will provide a special schedule intensively ( full time ) every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
