VISION

To become a leading Regional Planning and Development Study Program that produces graduates with holistic, comprehensive and ecological insight in the profession, science and technology development and research on urban, rural development, especially the coast and islands.

MISSION

Three aspects are derived from the Vision of the Regional Development Study Program (PS PPW), namely: excellence, development of science and technology and multi/inter-disciplinary knowledge. In order to realize the vision above, the mission of PS-PPW is formulated as follows:

• Produce graduates who are generally able to develop and apply PPW science and technology in urban and rural areas, especially coastal and island areas.
• Carry out research in the field of PPW in general and in particular coastal areas and islands.
• Carry out community service through mentoring and consulting the application of PPW science and technology to the community and government.

Goals

General

Since several years ago, the Indonesian government has designated Eastern Indonesia as the focus of regional development. Hasanuddin University through the PPW study program is one of the main sources that are expected to be able to prepare regional, urban, rural and transportation planners to anticipate the pace of development. The PPW Study Program aims to produce outputs that have interdisciplinary knowledge and insight (social, economic, political, engineering, and other related sciences) so that they are able to analyze both problems and potentials, as well as plan and formulate regional, urban, rural and transportation development policies. .

Special

In particular, the study program aims to produce outcomes that are able to:

• Understand and apply or use concepts, theories and analysis results in preparing regional, urban, rural and transportation development plans.
• Prepare recommendations in making regional, city, village and transportation development plans.
• Develop and develop concepts and policies for regional, urban, rural and transportation development planning.

Planning Management Concentration

This concentration is intended to produce outputs with a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree with the following main competency qualifications and supporting competencies:

Main Competencies:

• Possess mastery of scientific approaches, methods, and principles in planning management as well as skills in applying this mastery to the implementation of performance-based and participatory regional development planning management.
• Have the ability to develop professional performance as a planning staff in the regions through the sharpness of planning analysis that includes the integration of problems in the regions and contributes to solving problems in national planning.

Supporting Competencies:

Have the ability to understand and solve problems in the management of regional development planning through studies and developments based on scientific principles and principles.

Youth Leadership Management Concentration

Background

Leadership as the main element in the organization can be developed academically so that it can contribute to leadership development, especially youth leadership who will play an active role in national leadership and nation building.

In leadership, there are many factors that are related and mutually supportive for a person’s success in his capacity as a leader, so systematic and planned learning is needed to produce a reliable and quality leader.

Youth as future leaders of the nation are expected to have knowledge, skills, and attitudes related to leadership, which will be implemented in the life of the nation and state through their activities in youth organizations and the community, both at the regional, national and even international levels.

On the basis of this thought, the Ministry of Youth and Sports with Hasanuddin University, organized a Postgraduate Education Program in the Regional Development Planning Study Program with a specialization in Youth Leadership Management:

Goals	Produce master’s graduates who have academic ability in youth capacity development in Indonesia. Produce graduates who are able to master the basic skills needed to adopt and create new theories, paradigms and methodologies in youth resource management. Produce graduates who have behavioral and analytical skills to solve problems various problems of the nation through awareness, empowerment and development of youth resources with an interdisciplinary (interdisciplinary) approach. Produce graduates who are able to think critically, creatively and innovatively as quality youth workers in Indonesia. Produce graduates who have performance capacity in carrying out their duties and responsibilities as a pioneer and agent of change in nation building.
Main Competencies	Produce Masters in Regional Development Planning who have expertise in developing and applying leadership in various elements of groups and organizations in society as the main element of national/community resilience.
Support Competencies	Have professional ability to analyze critically and provide appropriate solutions in overcoming various national problems; Have knowledge and abilities that are applied by considering ethics and morals; Mastering approaches, methods and research techniques that can be applied in solving the nation’s problems; Have insight and concepts to can be applied in planning, implementation, decision making and monitoring in youth development.

Target Participants

The target participants are youth activists in youth organizations and youth-based community organizations.

Criteria for Participants from Youth Organizations/Youth-Based Community Institutions:

• Last education Bachelor (S1) all majors / study programs.
• Maximum age 28 years old
• Member or Active Management of Youth Organizations/Institutions at the National or Regional level.
• Not currently involved in other Scholarship Programs at State Universities or Private Universities in the country or abroad.
• Not registered and bound to work as a Civil Servant (PNS).
• Get recommendations/permissions from the leadership of the organization.
• Willing to develop leadership programs in the organization and in the region.
