The Graduate School of Hasanuddin University celebrated the significant moment of its 37th Dies Natalis by holding a national seminar and alumni meeting themed “Resilient Agricultural Innovations for Sustainable Food Security in Indonesia.” This prestigious event took place at the Prof. Dr. A. Amiruddin Auditorium, Faculty of Medicine, Hasanuddin University, on Saturday, December 16, 2023, starting at 09.00 WITA.
As part of the 37th Dies Natalis commemoration, the Graduate School of Unhas invited prominent stakeholders in the agricultural sector to share insights, ideas, and the latest innovations in enhancing food security in Indonesia.
In his opening remarks, the Rector of Unhas, represented by Prof. Subehan, S.Si., M.Pharm., Sc., Ph.D., Apt. (Vice-Rector for Planning, Development, and Finance) and Prof. Dr. Budu, Ph.D., Sp.M.K., M.MedEd (Dean of the Graduate School), warmly welcomed the participants and speakers.
To kick off the event, keynote speaker Dr. Ir. H. Andi Amran Sulaiman, M.P. (Minister of Agriculture, Republic of Indonesia), represented by Prof. Dr. Ir. Fadjry Djufry, M.SiB Head of BSIP, provided profound insights into the direction and strategic steps for developing a resilient and sustainable agricultural sector.
Participants were also treated to insights from prominent guest speakers such as Prof. Dr. Nitty Hirawaty Kamarulzaman (Head of the Department of Agribusiness and Biological Resource Economics, Faculty of Agriculture, Universiti Putra Malaysia), Drs. Andi Muhammad Arsjad, M.Si. (Head of the Food Security Agency, South Sulawesi Province), and Dr. Ir. Darhamsyah, MSi. (Head of the Sulawesi and Maluku Eco-region Development Control Center, Ministry of Environment and Forestry).
With a strong thematic framework, this event provided a valuable platform for stakeholders to collaborate, exchange ideas, and design concrete steps to advance Indonesia’s agricultural sector towards a more sustainable and independent future.
This national seminar and alumni meeting reflect the commitment of the Graduate School of Unhas to promote high-competitive and sustainable agricultural innovations to maintain Indonesia’s food security.
