Takalar, December 15, 2023: In celebrating the 37th anniversary of the Graduate School of Hasanuddin University, we proudly report the success of the community service activities that have collaborated with the Takalar District Government, South Sulawesi Province. This event is not just a part of an important milestone but also a genuine commitment to providing positive contributions to the community.
A series of activities have been carried out at various healthcare points in Takalar District. The event was attended by the leaders of the Graduate School, the academic community, the Hasanuddin University Community Service team, and the team from Takalar District.
One of the prominent activities was the Cataract Social Service (Baksos) at H Padjonga Dg. Ngalle Takalar Regional Hospital. With the aim of providing assistance to those in need, this activity successfully provided eye health services to many residents. At the Pattalasang Community Health Center, a hepatitis screening activity was also held as a step towards preventing and educating the public about health.
As the highlight of the event, a public seminar and service related to aging and aesthetics with the theme “Aging Gracefully” successfully provided valuable information in the pattern room of the Takalar Regent’s Office. The seminar was attended by many participants from various backgrounds, with expert speakers in their fields.
In his address, the Head of the Graduate School of Hasanuddin University expressed gratitude and appreciation to all parties involved in this activity. “This activity not only celebrates the age of the graduate school but goes beyond that as a tangible form of our contribution to the community. Thank you to the Takalar District Government for being our valuable partner in carrying out this activity,” said Prof. Budu.
This community service activity serves as evidence that higher education plays a significant role in providing positive impacts on society. Hopefully, such activities can continue to be held to support the development of community welfare in the future.
